2020 NPL Player Announcement

Capalaba FC is proud to announce three key signings for the 2020 NPL Season.

Excitement machine and fan favourite, Ryo Ono is back for another season with Capalaba. Ono is the reigning 2018 FQPL Most Valuable Player and is nominated for the 2019 FQPL Player of the Year. Capalaba fans all remember fondly Ono’s efforts in the final home game of 2019 where his brace propelled Capalaba to a convincing win over Logan Lightning and secured promotion into 2020’s NPL.

2019 FQPL Young Player of the Year nominee, Connor Booth has signed on to continue his rise as a quality midfielder. Booth had an outstanding season in 2019, capturing the coveted FQPL Goal of the Season with this left-footed banger against Ipswich Knights Football Club in Round 4.

After a two year stint with NPL top four club Peninsular Power, 24 year old Alex Warrilow has returned to the kennel to strengthen the squad in attack and bring that level of finishing that will be required going into the National Premier League.

On these three signings, Head Coach, David Booth had this to say “These boys are key to our NPL ambitions in 2020. Anyone who was watched Capalaba over the last couple of seasons, would know what Ryo Ono brings to our squad, he has all those qualities that you look for, he is dynamic, he is a genuine goal-scorer and the players and fans just love him. Alex is a great addition to our squad, he can be very dangerous around goal and that’s what we need, his job is very simple, put the ball in the back of the net and I am very confident that is exactly what he will do. Naturally, I am very proud of Connor and what he has achieved to date, his cracking goal in round 4 was special, but it’s his overall game development and his ability to impose himself on the game is what has impressed me the most and something I am looking forward to for next season and beyond."

Welcome back boys, we are all glad to have you back in our colours for 2020.
